I am a 47 year old male, happily married. I have been dealing with weight issues my whole life. There were, however some times when I felt really good about myself.
Five years ago, I got up to 380. The doctor told me I needed to lose weight. I started out walking every morning ( I mean every morning). And in about a year, I got down to 259. Well I stayed there for 2 years, and then I have gradually been gaining weight, and I am now at 335.
I have 2 children that are also having weight issues. I am hoping to start to pave the way to a better healthier lifestyle. Counting calories has always been the best way for me to lose weight. The main reason is that every time I put something in my mouth, I have to go to the computer and log in what I have eaten. It also makes me aware of the different foods, and what foods are best for a diet.
Last year for Christmas we bought a commercial grade Treadmill... (which has turned into a coat rack). This year for christmas we bought the Nintendo Wii with Wii Fit Plus, and so far that has turned into an expensive and fun way to weigh ourselves.
I would love to find some like minded people on this site and share stories, and to keep each others motivated. I really want to get the ball rolling for a healthier lifestyle for my entire family.
My wife is 124 lbs. No problems with her weight. But she is very supportive. In the 19 years we have been married, she has never, ever said to me that I was FAT, or that I needed to lose weight. NEVER.
I work in the movie industry, as a transportation coordinator. Our days are LONG ( about 14 hours a day, mostly 5 days a week). That is what my downfall was. Great catering food. Snacks available all day long, and no time to go to the gym in the morning(cause I need the sleep).
