What is better for losing weight: weightlifting or jogging?
You need a mix of all of it. Cardio to keep your heart strong enough to pump blood while doing resistance training. And resistance training to build muscle for burning fat. It all works in harmony along with a decent diet.
Heart rate up(cardio), heart rate down(resistance)... repeat.

Cake!! Are you kidding me?
I know this is a bit late but...

For me when people bring in donuts to work I resist them by drinking a whole bunch of hot water, it fills me up even though it doesn't taste like cake or a donut... The water acts as a filler so the cravings go away even though the temptation of sugary food is still lingering.

WW or FS?
I'm not sure exactly how I lost my weight but I started working out in May 2007 and thought I could eat whatever I wanted, not so. In February of 2009 I started Weight Watchers with my wife and lost 50lbs in 8 months. I only stayed on WW for 5 months but the weight kept coming off after I got used to eating the way WW guided me to.
I started at 216 and my lowest weight was 164(52lbs off). I now have leveled out and I am holding a weight of 169.
I had been eating a lot of McDonalds over this last summer and noticed the weight has been creeping back up on me.

I have had good results with WW but I am not sure if the 2 years of working out that sparked my metabolism to burn the fat when the time came to get on a diet(lifestyle).

Good luck, I believe WW is a good plan just keep an eye on your eating with this app too.
