I'm 38...I have a pretty good life. I am in a relationship that has stagnated, but I stay because he is/has been sick. Probably not nice to say, but true.
I have a good job, for the time being. I'm a health educator. I have been doing that for over 11 years, and yo-yo dieting with my weight all the while. My focus at work has shifted, as money and priorities have shifted. I used to educate on tobacco cessation and violence prevention, the last 7 years I have done HIV/AIDS programming almost exclusively (except for car seat safety. I am a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor.) Thanks to Arnold, most of my HIV/AIDS programs have been cut and they are looking for other things that I might be able to do. I was hoping for Hepatitis C funding to come through. Same behaviors and clients to deal with as HIV/AIDS. However, that didn't pan out and I am back in tobacco only this time as the Project Director. *sigh*
I am trying to loose weight for vanity sake, along with the fact that I have WAY high cholesterol. (Thanks, Dad) I have had it since I was in my early 20s and not overweight at all. SO you can imagine how bad a shape it is in when I am FAT. I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago (05-06). I was gonna keep it off that time. Then I got sick. I dealt with bronchitis and my asthma for a bunch of months and ended up on a couple of steroids which after a few months got the breathing and lung situation under control, but the weight was totally out of control. Go figure, so now, almost 7 years later I am still trying to get back on track, but with my signifcant other's health issues that just never seemed to happen fully.
