I'm a daughter, a wife, a mother and, most importantly, grandma to two of the most beautiful grandbabies in the world!! I have been a diabetic for 42 years...in the early days they told us to "sit down, don't run around and do too much" because they were afraid of low blood sugars. I learned, all my life to be sedentary!! I have struggled with eating disorders in the past (bulimia and anorexia) but those will forever be in my past. Now I struggle with the opposite problem. Diabetes, medications and a sedentary lifestyle have all contributed to my current state...I'm hoping that with hard work (which I'm trying for the first time in my life) and eating right, by this time next year I will be the "thin" grandma I would want for my grandchildren to grow-up with.

Climbing Stairs
Thanks for the article...I'm a little heavier that what they listed, but that just means (for now) I'm burning even more calories per minute!!

Climbing Stairs
Does Anyone have an idea as to how many calories are burned when you climb a flight of stairs?? I don't know what exercise to equate it to in the list we have available on fat secret. I'm not using a machine, just climbing the outside stairways around my apartment complex. I would really appreciate some guidance, Thanks.

Motivation for working out
I just looked in the mirror one day and decided enough was enough. I also decided that nobody else was gonna do this for me, if I wanted it, I had to do the work. I knew that if I kept going the way I was I would end up being "more" than a shape...I was gonna be a blob!! The biggest motivator for me is the scale and the way my clothes are beginning to get loose...I love that feeling and I want more of it...I also know what I have to do to get It!!

IM SO HUNGRY!!!
When you eat does play into your weight-loss...it's best if you can stop eating around 6-7pm. That way the food isn't just sitting there looking for fat cells to jump into...good luck!!
