Alright. It's time to work on this weight loss thing again. It's been a few years, and with my SO being a LEO who is not only never home, but is also in a different state (i moved to follow a job - he'll be here eventually) my anxiety and depression have skyrocketed. As have panic attacks.

I'm going to eat what I have in the cupboards for the next few weeks simply because I hate wasting food, and because I'd rather use this paychecks grocery money on a new bike. I have my treadmill, but I need a cheap bike for now just to get out of the house and do quick rides in the morning after work. I love cycling because even when "fat" and tired... you can just stop pedaling, but you keep moving. That's so much better for my "OMG PEOPLE ARE LOOKING!" anxiety than just walking or running and stopping when I'm out of breath. It's obvious at those times that I'm fat, out of shape and am a key target for making fun of.

Plus, there aren't really any hills around here... just much more extreme temperatures than I was used to riding in Washington State - but there is a bike path that has an entrance a few blocks away which will be much better. I sold my bike in Colorado before moving here to Arizona because I just didn't have a way to get the bike here. I loved that frame, too. I seem to have longer legs for a 5'4" person b/c men's medium bikes have always fit me far better (and I like the style of the bar and how much closer everything I need could be).

I'd buy a used bike, but it seems that people selling them want about 17x what they're worth... so that's not going to happen. :)

My first few weeks will probably primarily consist of frozen meals and protein shakes while I work on my food schedule. I really love the Fit Kitchen and Paleo meals - I figure with veggies/fruit as 'snacks' and those as two meals a day I can have a few options for my 3rd meal (rice meal, protein shakes, eggs, Sunflower oil tuna pouches). I know it's "lazy" and cheating.... but it's the only way I'll be able to transition and figure out how I'm going to eat each day without over-serving myself. Plus, it's just me and the dogs here. It's way too easy to overcook when you're by yourself. I will pick one cheat day when I can have anything I want (nachos, pizza, chips, candy... an entire box of oreos) because I find it easier to say "no" 6 days a week - and there isn't any way that I can eat 6 days worth of "no" foods in one day. It helps with my mental commitment to the diet - and allows me to do things like go out to eat with friends if I want.

After I dropped to 180 I managed to stay mostly between 185 and 195 when I'd stopped dieting for several years. Then my uncle died two years ago and I've just been a wreck -- which is crazy bc we weren't even close - but he was only 50 and the healthiest in our family. I crept up to 225 and have been unhappily staying between 218 and 224 for the last few months.

I did the whole 30.... well... 21 (stupid trying it at christmas - but my SO decided to stop by and we mostly stuck to it except I had to try the cookies I made for his Death Star cookie jar xmas present... you can't give a cookie jar empty!) I did really well on it, and found some great recipes. I plan on starting another Whole 30 in about a month or 2 but it can be rather costly... since I'm paying rent in two states.... It'll have to wait.
