Second month, only 1 lb lost
My friend noticing, it definitely made me feel better, that what I'm doing is making a difference. I can to more vegetables or fruit instead of the hash browns, I just never thought about the carb bit of potatoes, and the fact the the hash browns are not made fresh. I like salads, but I've not tried any of the vinegar dressings, so I'll see if I can find one I like. I do like subway, I've usually gotten the chicken and bacon ranch, without the ranch most times. With tomatoes, spinach, onions and pepperjack cheese, little bit of salt and a LOT of pepper. I put pepper on everything. I can't stand bland foods.

Thanks for all the help, I do appreciate it. And I apologize for being a bit defensive. You're probably right in that I'm still eating more processed foods than I realize. I never really considered the hash browns for instance. I do love the avacado chicken salad, there at denny's. I do also eat a lot of eggs for breakfast a large number of days on the road. I was hoping to keep a steady drop of about 6lbs a month, that seems a good weight to lose a month. I didn't know about the plateauing though. I'm drinking a lot of water every day, 2-4 liters most days. And I'm not drinking any kind of diet drinks, ever ever ever. Nasty stuff if you ask me. Very Happy My only other drinks are unsweet tea, and coffee with cream and a tad of sugar. I can't do black coffee. I do sometimes drink beer, or wine, but not really very much. maybe a couple of beers a couple of times a month. I have been eating a lot of bannanas and sometimes apples. Truck stops usually have a basket or two of them.

I do feel slimmer, my clothes are a bit looser for sure. And a friend of mine told me last night that my face and neck are slimmer as well. I haven't seen him in a couple of weeks, so he noticed a difference. That makes me feel better.

I do realize that weight does not equal healthy shape, because muscle weighs more than fat etc.

Also, a nutritionsist friend recommened that I eat between 50-70 grams of protein a day, hence the amount of steak and eggs I've been eating.

Ok, 1st. I'm a truck driver, so eating out is pretty much the only choice I have. I have no way of cooking anything. Ever.

Alfredo, if you look through my entire last two months, you will see that I only ate it maybe 3 times total.

I drink only water, coffee, and unsweet tea. I'm drinking 2-4 liters of water every day.

I've been staying away as much as possible from processed foods.

Like I said earlier, I've only been counting calories, I've not been counting carbs, nor sodium, nor any other thing.

I do eat salads quite a bit, steak, chicken(grilled not fried), eggs. I do eat some burgers, and subway sandwiches occasionally.

I need suggestions that are practical for a person who lives on the road most of the time. It is not practical for me to avoid fast food. I do try to eat chicken when I can at fast food. I don't always have time to sit down and eat. When I do, that's why there is so much denny's etc. I've not eaten at texas roadhouse, but I use the calorie count from that to count the steak at denny's. I drive a truck, so I'm very limited to where I can park, and what types of restaurants I can eat at. denny's is a big truck stop restaurant, so I eat there a lot. Don't have much choice.

Ok, I found three rdi calculators, and they are recommending between 2100-3380 per week to lose weight. This is a bit of an extreme range of values. I was at 2600 a week. I think I'm going to move to the 2200 per week.

I have been "real" I've not had a single carbonated drink in two months, I've been paying attention to what I eat as much as possible. A piece of grilled chicken from mcdonalds has the same nutritional value as a piece of grilled chicken you cook at home.

Sorry if you perceive a negative attitude in the post, I went from feeling helped, to feeling attacked.

OK, I had not been watching my carbs. Just the calories. I can watch my carbs as well. I'm also going to drop my rdi by 200. I'll see how the next few weeks go. Thanks.
