FS doesn't show my start weight right at 228 as I changed diet. I am a Bible believing Christian, it is the first part of every day and everything I do. I quote scriptures. Everything I am and have is because of God and my salvation in Jesus. If this offends you, you may not want to read my journals or be my buddy, but my health struggles are real and my journey can help many, as many have helped me with their journey. I respect anyone's beliefs, and ask only that my beliefs are respected as well.
I'm 55, 3 kids, 8 grandkids, work full time from home. I have a darling husband who is dieting with me, and have cats and dogs. I had lost some weight, but health issues made me gain it back. I also suffered from no energy and extreme exhaustion.
I have an ileostomy, got ulcerative colitis at 16 and in three years almost died. I got the standard ileo at 19, a BCIR in 98 that failed until 2014 when I got it fixed. My food goes through me quickly and sometimes doesn't digest. I watch what I eat, can't eat raw veggies or much fiber. Used to be only starches made me feel good but caused me to gain weight. I am a picky eater and don't like most food. My doctor also told me in April that I had type 2 diabetes, tried to put me on meds. I refused the meds, through my new way of eating have got my blood sugars down and my A1C to the level of no diabetes.
I've been doing low carb/high fat for a couple months, I feel great, my digestive track is handling it well, We should exercise more, however we live in the country and our gym is quite a drive away. Going into town is an entire evening affair, so we used to g, then get fast food (high calorie, high carb) cause we would be home too late to prepare food. We live in a 16 foot by 34 foot home with no room for equipment. Our area here is rough to walk (twisting my ankles the ruts and rocks). But I'm down 15 pounds in two months. With God all things are possible.

How am I supposed to get new buddies...
Tiredness is greatly improved. It last two long days but by the next day I was much better. Still have weakness in muscles but I've had that so long i figure it will take some exercise to get strong again.

Crohn's Disease
I had ulcerative colitis at 16 and an ileostomy by 19 to save my life as my colon was so bad. I'm 53 now and still have problems with my intestines, with food and with not being able to lose weight. The doctors and nutritionists have not been helpful to me at all in what I can eat. Its been trial and error, and sometimes i eat something one week and it affects me badly, and a week later doesn't have any affect. Potatoes seemed the most soothing to me but doctor said I have to cut out carbs to treat insulin resistance. I also cannot eat much fruit, no raw veggies, and don't like most veggies anyway. My body is also bass ackwards! Fibers give me runs, and things that give most people runs make my output thicker. Sometimes I live on Pepto Bismal. But I have lost weight before and you can too. Before I didn't watch my diet but I did exercise. Now i'm watching my diet and will start getting more active. You may have a long hard road but I'm positive you can do it. God Bless!

CPAP
Sometimes it takes a few days to adjust to sleeping with a CPAP, but when I first got mine, after that adjustment I began feeling stronger and more energized. It has been many years and this year I was beginning to feel more tired and weak again. Dr just upped my pressure on the CPAP so after adjustment again, I should start to feel much better. Using the CPAP can help with weight loss also because your body doesn't have to hold the fat working to keep you awake and alive.

How am I supposed to get new buddies...
... when after I add one, the next one it tells me I cannot add another buddy so soon? I'm on day 3 of induction of Atkins. I'm so tired I can hardly stand it. Food seems to be ok, not too hungry and I eat something about every two hours. I've been low on calories and carbs.

new to this
I am starting my atkins today. Husband is joining me in the endeavor. Very nervous about cravings, and that on top of everything I am a very picky eater and have another health problem that limits some foods because they make me ill. 3 carbs so far today and no snacks. Only 2 more hours at work.
