I am a student who is interested in learning more about nutrition and might even study to become a nutritionist, but I am not sure so, I am taking a general human nutrition course this fall to see if it is really for me or not. I have weighed around 140lbs for as long as I can remember. I am 5'8" so, 140lbs is not too shabby BUT I know in my heart of hearts that I could be slimmer in some areas (*cough* thighs!) and that is what I am working on now. I want to be the best version of myself all the time because not only will that mean I can fit into my clothes forever it also means that I will be healthier and therefore happier. Seems simple enough! This site really helps me keep track of ALL of my food choices, almost holding me responsible as opposed to my 'out of site, out of memory' snacking routine. I am excited to meet people on here as well. Good luck!

Weight loss help?!
I heard something really helpful today on a tv show called Cook Yourself Thin. They said that take the weight you want to be (ex. 130 lbs) and times it by 10, the answer is 1300 which is the number of calories you need to consume in order get to/maintain that weight. I think it makes a lot of sense. Hope it helps!

Drinking ice water helps you burn some calories!
That makes so much sense! I live out in the desert and let me tell you, if you don't drink enough water you can tell! I have been "pushing water" as I like to call it, and I feel like it is much easier to maintain my weight. Now that I know the cold water drinking/calorie burning information I will keep my water on ice. Thank you!
