Born and raised in Valencia, Venezuela. Now live with my wife in Winter Haven, FL USA. Two kids, one in college (go Scarlet Knights!) and the youngest in high school. I do international sales, thus my love for traveling and good food and wine. Now, I am seriously into eating healthy and exercising, and of course, counting calories!

travel diet
lol...trust me, it was not easy...everytime a tortilla and the queso fundido would start screaming "pick me, pick me", I would drink a gulp of water, look elsewhere, and move on..Smile..talk about a defining moment...

travel diet
Although I do not travel every week, when I do I go overseas for a week or so every month. I bring with me atkins or zone protein bars for snacking in between meals (plus grab an apple from the restaurant at bkfst), and bottle of water. That keeps my hunger pangs in check. I usually have lunch and dinner with business associates or customers, so I steer them towards a seafood restaurant, etc. (although I do tell them that dinner out is not necessary, I would be taking them away from their families, etc., they always take me up on that, so I do not have dinner and just eat my protein bar). I always tell the waiter/waitress that I am counting calories and ask them to cook my chicken/steak/seafood either broiled (not grilled, they add oil), or baked. Vegetables steamed, no butter, salads with dressing on the side, and aaaaaaaalways to not bring the bread basket (if I am eating alone, of course. If with others I just don't look at it Smile). I recently went to Mexico and passed the temptation test with flying colors..only ate wheat tortillas and with moderation, and lost 2 lbs that week!

wwalking shoes vs running shoes vs cross trainer shoes
Definitely flat footed! And yes, I only feel the pain after working out (actually towards the end of the workout), but never while doing anything else (working, traveling, etc.). I will be going to a store this week and get fitted for the right pair. Thanks for your comments!

Suggestion - Edit Recipes
Hi ceececarmaa, I too encountered the same issue with the serving sizes on the dbase. To get around it I either enter my own food in the database with the serving from the package, or just make the conversion on the current item. For instance, if the serving indicates 1 TBSP and I want 1 tsp, I enter it as 0.333 (1 TBSP=3 tsp). Hope this helps!

Hi Gefd28 and Kallau, thank you so much for your comments, which together with the discomfort I have been feeling on my feet, confirm I must head out to a running shoe store today!. I always bought shoes at Reebok or Nike outlet stores but never paid attention to whether they were motion control or neutral, etc. This has opened my eyes...Thanks again for taking the time to share your advice!
