Losing weight to get healthy is my goal. I'm on my way and my journey is up and down a bit now and then, but I'm getting it done!
In January 2013, I weighed 232 lbs and I was diagnosed with diabetes. I began watching my carbs and calories, eating a low fat diet, and avoiding sugar. I began to walk more, starting from half a mile a day and slowly increased it to 5000 steps a day (2.5 miles). When I joined this website I weighed 202 lbs. What a great site, with such encouraging members! After losing 44 pounds, my A1C was 5 (normal) and my doctor told me that I can stop taking the diabetic pills! I am so happy and I continue to eat healthy and exercise daily so that I will not have to go back on the Metformin.
