One of my biggest pet peeves are unattended children and immature adults in the gym when i am training. When i say children I mean young adults or teenagers who, at first sight, you just know they are bragging douchebags who believe in "swag" or "yolo" and by immature adults i mean know-it-alls who cant stand getting corrected of their form and who throw wrong fitness tips like they are certified trainers.
These individuals who loiter the gym when i am training really bring annoy me in so many ways, i constantly imagine slapping them upside on the head with a 50lb weight plate.
Just last saturday, their was this kid who sat on three different machines for 30minutes at a time, texting and playing with his smartphone. He will load up the machine with puny 10-15 pounds, do 3-5 reps, bring out his phone and proceed being a complete and utter non-training douche.

HOW I CONTROL MY FOOD CRAVINGS

In my last post (may 12), i finally figured out why i had such bad food cravings which is really frustrating because i am so close to reaching my 3-month goal. Last night, i had an epiphany to how to control my cravings.
Here's how.
I procrastinate. If i get a powerful food craving, I make promises to myself that i will eat it on my birthday. That i would have a whole cheat day on my birthday. I promise myself lots of food and actually planned my meals on my birthday. I do this to placate the inner foodie in me.
I push my buttons. Some days, i would go inside a supermarket and look at chips, candy, pastas, ice cream. Sometimes I would pick up an item like i was going to buy it. I tease and tempt myself on purpose but then, i read the nutrition label and list of ingredients and my food craving is deflated because i get scared of all the sugar and hydrogenated oils the product would contain.
Smelling is eating. I only consume the egg whites for breakfast and the egg yolks i make into cakes and puddings. i get a good forearm workout in manually beating the batter and i love playing around and thinking of how i can turn an ingredient into something good. When its all done and i open the oven door, an inviting and scrumptious aroma greets me and that is enough for me. I dont need to eat the baked goods to know its delicious, the smell tells it all.
Be a giver, not a taker. After baking my heart out, i give divide it between my grandma and my parents because they're the biggest fans (and critics)of my creations. I love the feeling of accomplishment when i see their satisfied and happy faces.

I was getting worried about myself and questioning the strength of my willpower. These past few days, my food cravings have been a nightmare. I was constantly looking at pictures and recipes of food ("food porn") and just this weekend, i gave no second thought in giving myself a few treats when just last month, i wouldn't touch anything with more than 5g of sugar.
Its a good thing i stumbled over
this article which explained why my cravings have been barely manageable and how to stop cravings and i quote;

because of the shifting hormone levels in the body that are trying to get you to eat so you don't starve to death. The body senses that you're getting leaner and leaner - something that it doesn't especially like, and now it's going to do whatever it can to get you to start eating.
