Hello! I am 29 years old and overweight. The tricky thing for me is that I am a large-framed woman, and although I weigh 253lbs (as of 3/28/08), a stranger could look at me and say I look like maybe 200-210 or so. According to normal "BMI" results, I should be 156lbs. I don't think I've weighed that since junior high! Some calculations show that my healthy weight should be 177lbs. Better, but still seems odd to me. Based on my frame and height, I feel I should be between 176-200lbs. My first goal is to get down to 230, then we'll go from there.
On an average day I naturally burn more calories than I eat. I haven't been losing weight. However, I'll admit that the calories I take in probably are too high in fats and sugars. I also have medical issues that contribute to my body retaining fats. I will now be monitoring the types of calories I eat, and adding more activities to my day to burn more calories.
