A year and a half ago (August, 2009) I was in great shape. I was at 170 lbs., with my target weight being 168 lbs., and I was getting rid of fat while toning up. And then I had to move for a new job. To Pittsburgh, where they put french fries on everything. That winter it snowed 21" in a single storm. I had hurt my back and it complained constantly. I was also in grad school, and the new job was not what I had expected. So my time at the gym and my diet went down hill.
So, here I am at the start of 2011 with my weight back up to 182 lbs. and most of my toned muscle gone. The tire around my middle has returned, and though it's perhaps only a wheelbarrow-sized tire, it's still a tire. Few of my pants fit anymore--I had bought a new wardrobe as a reward for having gotten into shape before; little did I know that that new wardrobe would also be a kind of barometer to warn me when I started going too far off the healthy tracks.
I'm fixing this now, and this site (and the accompanying iPad app) are really going to help. It's never been so easy for me to so easily and accurately log my food and monitor my behavior.
So, no more excuses.
