I had been debating about weighing in at all, because I knew that my diet was way off for the past 10 days or so. (It was a period of planned semi-indulgence for my birthday, a Spring potluck at work, St Patty's Day, etc.) However, I decided to weigh-in even though I knew it would be higher - accurate record-keeping, right? :)

I suspect some of it is water retention, because I ate more salty stuff than usual in the past few days. Took the kids to see The Lorax this weekend and...gasp...ate real movie theater popcorn. (With butter and salt!) On the bright side, if it is water retention, hopefully that means it will drop easily too. ;)

It's OK though. I firmly believe that you have to be able to indulge within reason once in awhile. So what if I had birthday cake, movie theater popcorn, and a Shamrock shake with the kids to celebrate St Patty's Day? (Not all on the same day...it was over the past week.)

If I eat completely healthy food 95% of the time, then that will still balance out in the long run, and be something that fits more reasonably with a long-term lifestyle change.

Had a fantastic birthday yesterday. The weather was amazing - unseasonably warm for NW Ohio, bright and sunny. I took the day off work, and my kids are on break from school this week. We enjoyed a nice relaxing day together. If only every day could be like that, but it was back to the office and reality today. Sigh. :)

I know I'm overdue for a weigh-in. Have been debating about skipping this week's weigh-in entirely. I allowed myself a few indulgences given that it was my birthday week, and we also had our quarterly potluck here at work. Quite certain I didn't lose any weight, and there's a good possibility that I backtracked a pound, maybe even two.

If I skip the weigh-in, then I won't beat myself up over the number on the scale from what I knew in advance was going to be an "off" week.

If I do the weigh-in, then my weight history will more accurately reflect my entire experience. Even if the weight goes up, at least I'll be accurately tracking my ups and downs.

Hmmn...decisions, decisions.

On the bright side, I'm wearing a pair of pants today that haven't fit me in almost 2 years. Go me. :)

You probably won't see much of me this week - have quite a few things going on, and also my birthday is Wednesday. I've decided not to worry too much about my diet this week.

That's not to say that I'll go crazy and pig out, but I probably will indulge in some ways. On the bright side, an indulgence for me now is still as good or better than what a regular day used to be like. I have definitely changed my eating habits and cravings!

Actually, I drank a can of Diet Mt Dew this weekend, because I was super thirsty at an event with my nieces and didn't have a lot of options. Keep in mind that prior to starting my 24 Day Challenge in January, I was drinking at least 2-3 20 oz bottles of it a day.

I couldn't even finish the whole 12 oz can on Saturday. Just didn't taste good. Suppose that's a good sign that I've really re-trained my tastebuds. Now I know for sure that I don't miss it at all. :)
