Seasonal weight loss/gain/platau
I have found that I gain during the winter months. I finally figured out that my activity level decreases drastically during that time period so even though my eating habits don't change, the lower level of activity leads to gains. I am not out and about as much, the kids play less sports in winter so I am not walking around the fields. I hate being cold so I park closer to stores or just stay home. This winter I plan to use my bodybugg to keep me on track with my calorie burn.

To Cheat Day or Not to Cheat Day?
I think you have to distinguish between a "cheat" day and a binge. A cheat day shouldn't be about over indulging, it should be about fitting in some treats so that you aren't tempted to binge. I prefer to work the foods that I love into my everyday meals. I can have pizza & a salad for dinner one night and a piece of cake for dessert another night and fit it all within my daily RDI. That is so much more satisfying than depriving myself for 6 days and trying to fit all my cravings into one day.

Oh Boy
I had to do a personal inventory to figure out what would work for me for exercise. I listed out all of the things I hated about exercise (most types of cardio) and everything that I loved (group fitness, weightlifting) and devised a workout plan that incorporated things that I enjoy. It makes it so much easier to get the workouts in when it is something you like.

The other thing to note is cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping can all burn a decent amount of calories (I was shocked when my Bodybugg said I burn 250 calories in the hour I spend at the grocery store). My point is - doing something that you like and will continue to do is more important that just exercising for the sake of exercising

Need motivation!
I had to embrace my lazy side and let go of my cheap side to cook/eat more healthy food at home. I will spend a little more $$ to buy veggies, fruit, meat in pre-portioned sizes. I figure it is still cheaper than takeout.
