Insulin resistance
Avoid ALL carbs, duh! If your body was lactose intolerant or gluten intolerant everyone would instantly recommend avoiding those entirely, so why not carbohydrates?

No whole grains, no fruit, no milk, etc. Getting on <100 g of carbohydrates is neither hard nor taxing to your body unless you are training for the Olympics. I would recommend even <50, or if you have the will even keto.

Yes, and eat FAT. Bacon (uncured preferably), eggs, full-fat aged cheese, lard, butter, etc should be the staple for ANY diet, let alone one for pre-diabetics...
