I live in a retirement community near Barrie, Ontario and love it. Had cancer surgery about 18 months ago and so far, so good. As far as weight loss goes, tried not weighing myself for 3 months last summer while recording everything I ate, only to finally weigh myself to learn I had lost nothing. After blood tests, learned I have a low thyroid condition and my doctor tells me I have to take medication for it for the rest of my life. Haven't bothered to watch my diet for the past 3 months on thyroid meds, but I generally eat healthy. I think I've gained a couple of pounds recently. Can't wait for the farmers market here in our community to start. Years ago I did very well on low carb, not sure if I have the discipline to go that route again. I'm also on vitamin D and Calcium supplements because of low bone mass.
Fast forward to December 2019. I've been doing keto since April 2016. This is the low carb way of eating that works (so far) for me. It's actually very close to the original Atkins. My current weight is 148.6, at least it was a week ago I weigh myself every 10 days to avoid the inevitable ups and downs on the scale that drive me crazy.
