Journaling
I've found that I lose better when I journal. If I don't, I end up eating things I would not normally or should not or helps me realize how much or little I have eaten.

Can running be taught?
I started what i called run-walking (because i could not run the whole time), i would pick spots and tell myself i would run to there, then keep increasing. My brother is a Marine and that is from their fitness program. Before you know it you will be running marathons too! I have been running now for 3 years and i love it but have yet to find a 5k that happens when I am not working!

Fast weight loss
I'm with you, cannot understand that rapid a loss. You know as well as I do that fast is not the best way to lose it, on top of more stretch marks, loose skin, etc. Plus the more muscle you retain the faster your metabolism is. I would rather be slow and steady!

Exercising
Did you get a points finder with your book? There is a slide rule looking thing that is a points finder for foods not listed in the books so you can calculate points based on fiber, calories and fat. Anyway the flip side of this finder is a points booster which is used to calculate (based on weight) how many points you've burned doing various exercises depending on intensity. I would have to dig around, I may have an extra somewhere. If I find it i will let you know. I know membership is expensive even if you get a monthly pass is still $10 a week but you may want to join just for a month when registration is free just to be able to take advantage of all of the online tools for ww and get all of the materials and the program explained a little better. I bite the bullet because for me i need the support of the meetings and my leader is very cool.
