Low Carb High Fat Shout-Out
Quote:
Magnesium works great for muscle cramps. Be sure to get chelated magnesium since it's easier to absorb. The magnesium oxide isn't absorbed very well which makes it better suited to treat constipation.
If you can't get your hands on chelated magnesium you can soak in a bath with epsom salt which is a type of magnesium salt. It will cure those cramps easily.
Thanks for the heads up. I am going to look for chelated magnesium on my next shopping trip.

Low Carb High Fat Shout-Out
Wow! Awesome feedback! Thanks
I am trying to keep an eye on my vitamin and minerals and I had leg cramps in bed last night so I need to check my potassium. Otherwise it's been great so far. I feel better, have more energy and my headaches stopped with the absence of wheat.
I am always amazed when people say LC is a fad. In fact the earliest "ketosis" based diet I came across was in 1797 as a means of controlling diabetes.
As far as the healthiness of LC, low-carbohydrate diets are used to treat or prevent some chronic diseases and conditions including: cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure and diabetes, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome (ketosis combats fatigue and I am proof of that!) and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
I can live with LCHF. In fact I will probably live quite a bit longer now that I am eating healthier.

Low Carb High Fat Shout-Out
I am low carb and loving it! I read Atkins and now am waiting on my local library for a copy of "Why We Get Fat". I was doing a version of low carb (without intending to) and lost 50 pounds. Someone I know and love convinced me that I need to eat whole grains etc... so I joined Weight Watchers with her and promptly gained 30 pounds eating less than I was before. I quit that and starting researching low carb and realized that it is a viable and healthy alternative to other diets. It works for me and a great side effect is no more migraines!
