I'm a 35 year old woman with 2 children (7 & 4). I have a nearly perfect life....except for a few extra pounds....I'm switching to Atkins to try to get me motivated again. I'd like to start with an attainable goal of 140.

1 lb of meat
I like to look at my weight loss in pounds of ground beef. Think about 1 lb of raw ground beef....it looks grose.....that's a lot of meat! I've lost only 5 lbs thus far, but when I think about 5 lbs of ground beef it makes me put things in perspective. Just a thought! Razz

I tried it and didn't like it at all!!!!! You have to be extremely strict or bad things will happen. I'm speaking from experience. I was pretty good, but the side effect were not worth it.

How cutting down on diet soda helped me:
I've cut back drastically...I'll have none or maybe one a day. I haven't noticed a difference yet, but maybe that's because I've been a piglet otherwise. Hmmmm.....

weight loss
The one negative thing I have to say about weight watchers is that it focus on weight alone....without accounting for muscle gain. I've been working really hard by running and eating better...however, I weigh more now than ever. I can tell my legs and mid section has lost, but the scale is not accounting for that. Hmmmmm.......Mad
