I'm 4'9" and 142 lbs when I started. My heaviest weight was a year ago at 148lbs. I am now at 138 and I am doing the atkins diet. I thought I would try something new. I got down to 129lbs by doing calorie count. The weight slowly came back as my activity level dropped. Now I'm aiming to get down to 110lbs ultimately. I have a 4 year old daughter who thinks she's 40. She is very active and I'm trying to keep up with her. I need to be healthy for both of us. I'm to short to be so heavy. I want to do an hour of exercise a day but I need to start slow and do 30mins everyday in order to keep up progress. My goal is to stay on this diet for at least a month to see results before I decide to commit to this as a lifestyle. I love bread and donuts and pies,candy bars, lemon heads, chocolate, turtles, pizza, hoagies, mac & cheese, italian beefs, chili cheese dogs, fried chicken, and all kinds of pasta. ohhhhhhh......... to give up that for life. I just need to have them in moderation. Fruit and juice is one of my loves too but in moderation is best.

Atkins misconceptions
I think its amazing that you are half way to your goal by doing Atkins. Ignorance is blissful for may people. That state of mind is why folks walk to the beat of other peoples drum. I did my research before I choose Atkins. I also spoke to a few people who loss weight doing it. You keep doing what you are doing. I am right behind you. I got 40 lbs to lose. I'm petite and heavy for my stature.
