So I'm trying to clear all the carbs out of my house so that I can start eating lo carb next week. My fear is that I will have absolutely no ability to exercise without having any carbs in my diet, but the low calorie thing isn't working for me. I've been religious about the shakes, about snacking on fruit and good stuff throughout the day. Tracking my food, tracking my exercise. So preparations are in order to put the blender in the cupboard and shelve the rest of the Visalus mix, and instead have bacon and eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch, and meat for dinner. I want to fit into my Size 16 pants by Labor Day.

Nearly passed out playing tennis last night because I had forgotten to take off the darn nicotine patch. Going ala fresca now....no patches, no smoking. Doing really well. Rewarding myself with a salad today for lunch instead of a shake - although I will probably end up having the shake for a snack later.

Now that the swelling in my ankles has subsided, I step on the scale and at least I no longer am completely dismayed. Still tennis three times a week, softball twice a week, and gym every possible day.

I skipped a week of loggiing in because I started playing tennis, and just like always when I start an exercise, I gained weight. It is depressing that the more I exercise, the more I weigh, but I've been good about a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, and a reasonable dinner. I did eat out at Panda Express once this week (Panda Bowl, Mandarin Chicken) but I'm certain that the five pounds I gained is because I'm playing tennis three times a week in addition to softball a couple of times per week. Of course all the articles say that it is the addition of muscle that is causing the weight gain, and my swollen ankles would indicate that there is some water weight involved, but it is still pretty darn depressing. Still, I will keep going to the gym, and keep playing tennis and softball, and pretty soon I ought to be up around 300 pounds.
