I am a 71 year old married man who has traditionally been heavyset all his life. The term "morbid obesity" sounds terrible but that is what it is. I am 6' and on January 5th I weighed 314 lbs. I am hoping to reduce that to 200-220 lbs and as of February 25, I lost 29 lbs. This was done by drinking more water, less coffee, no brandy, and no coffee creamer for my brandy. This last week I must have plateaued but I am not about to give up. It is all mind over matter. I had the same challenge in 2012 and reached my goal then, but have not been able to motivate myself enough until 2016.
Exercise has not been part of my diet and is extremely difficult with hip and knee issues, but I will seek consultation. For the most part, I have led a constructive life and would like to extend that life for a few more years in better health.
