Maintaining 1200 cals a day?
If you're not comfortable with dropping to 1200 calories, then don't. Try some of the other suggestions first and see what happens. It doesn't sound like you are on a low-carb/no-carb plan, which is fine. But maybe try an inverted carb plan. This means eating carbs in the early part of the day and tapering off so you stop consuming them by the afternoon. So by the time you get to dinner you'd be eating lean protein w/ veggies.
Definitely change up your exercies routine. Muscle confusion is a great way to boost metabolism. It can be as simple as adding jogging intervals to a walking routine.
If this doesn't work, try the 1200 calories temporarily and see. Everybody's different and its about finding what works for your body and lifestyle. Sometimes all you can do is trial and error.

What Are/Will Be Your Reward For Weight Loss Goal?
I too am thinking of getting a tattoo when I reach my goal weight! I'd like to get one of a female lion with two lion cubs (representative of my two boys!). I'm not sure where to put it though. Any suggestions?

Oh sweetie...my heart aches for you. First, I want to be careful to give you too much advice, knowing so little about you. How old are you? How long have you been in this relationship? Is this the first time he has made a self-change demand on you? Do you have any health issues? What was the exact context of your conversation?
I am trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that his reason for being so extreme is out of concern for you and not merely because of how you look. If, however it is the latter, I think you already know the answer and are maybe just trying to convince yourself. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. Just take it a day at a time, and moment by moment. Know that you have friends here that know your struggles and really want to help YOU!
