May 21, 2015 - Wow! 3 years on this site! I've managed to reach my goal and then add back 10 lbs. I try to be mindful of what I eat and exercise 4 - 5 times a week with my co-worker. We either run or do a Jillian Michaels video. I help out still with my parents' farm. My dad is 82 now and it is getting harder and harder for him to do the things he loves. I hope one day to have a hobby farm of my own.
May 8, 2013 - Time to update the bio. I'm 40 years old and have been on FS for one year now. In that time I've lost over 25lbs! I love FS as it totally works for me. I keep track of the calories that I consume daily and try to do some kind of activity everyday.
May 8, 2012 - I'm a 39 year old Christian, working, married mom of a 2 year old from Ontario, Canada. I work in the Regulatory Department of a food company where I am attached to my chair and computer! My DH also works for a food company as a mechanic. So we are surrounded by processed food! We've been married for over 10 years now. My parents own a dairy farm and we help out whenever we can. My son loves the tractors and cows.
Last fall my co-worker joined weight watchers and lost 20 lbs in 6 months. I tried to learn from her but it didn't matter what I did, the weight remained the same.
I found FatSecret through an app on my phone and thought this may help! And it is by making me accountable for what I put in my mouth! I want to stay around 1500 calories per day and I'm trying! As well, I'm trying to incorporate more exercise. My co-worker and I try to go for a walk everyday at lunch and we walk about 2 km. And when I get home I try to get a few more exercises in while playing with my son.
Whatever I can do to make the weight go down, even if it is only 2 pounds per month. Over the course of a year that's more than 20 lbs! Slow and steady wins the race!

I would love to hear your stories, successes and failures and together we'll go through this journey together!

Healthy Brown Bag Lunches
Go to www.skinnytaste.com for some casserole dishes that can be made ahead, portioned out and frozen. One that I like is zucchini lasagna. Another idea is make your own hamburgers. I get 6 hamburgers out of a pound of lean ground beef. Then use a whole wheat dinner roll, add a slice of low fat cheese and some bbq sauce/mustard/ketchup. When you pack your lunches, can you take a ice pack along with you to help keep things cool? I also like hard boiled eggs for snacks, unsweetened applesauce, yogurt, or cottage cheese. Good luck!

anyone out there doing some self-sabotaging?
Challenge yourself and make new goals. I think we all have a number in our head that is smaller then the goal on paper. My co-worker did WW and once you reach your goal and move to maintanence mode, you get more points too. But challenge yourself to weigh less than 160 even if it's only 158! Good luck!
