58 and strugging to lose
Hi Smitten,

This is very common for most people and try not to stress about it and try a couple of these tips. If your interested I wrote a ebook on over a 100 tips that I would be more than happy to send to you.

1. Don't weigh yourself. Its absolutely useless and doesn't mean a thing. The most important number on the scale is your body fat percentage which most scales don't have or are very inaccurate. Go by how your clothes fit and how your body is feeling. If you have more energy this means that your metabolism is increasing and you are in a fat burning stage and you are probably losing body fat. However if you are sluggish, irritable, not sleeping well, etc I guarantee any weight you are losing is muscle for the most part(catabolic state).

2. I know you said you eat a ton of protein but are you eating enough healthy fat? The best way to drop fat is to maintain your blood sugar levels. Fats neutralize these levels so if your not consuming fat your blood sugar levels will be all over the place and it will be very hard to lose body fat. Remember , your cells are approximately 50% fat, brain is around 75% fat and your hormones need fat to thrive so if your not consuming this important macro nutrient, your depriving your body and taking away from your brain, cells and hormones.

3. Don't worry about calories(for the most part). Most people over weight are actually considered malnourished amongst other things. Trust me, Ive been a coach for over 20 years and no one has ever gotten fat while consuming more healthy fat which will increase their overall caloric intake.
