Hi there. Oh my goodness I have been there. All you can do is calorie count. When I did, I lost 36kg in four or five months. 10 kilos is very achievable but it will take some discipline.

Stick to 1200 calories a day. Drink ice water, sugar-free ice tea etc. Lots of water.

Make 1 meal a day a salad. Have two 100 calorie snacks between your meals. Have only one carb-based meal a day. Rice, potato, bread etc keep your main meal under 500 calories though. Eat salad and fruit to stay full. Honestly you could lose as much as 1.5kg a week. Crucial to find snacks that are delicious but under 100 calories, like Soleil chocolate mousse - 68 calories and yum! If you don't have something nice each day you'll binge. Good luck!

How we sabotage our health
I loved this post because there is an undeniable psychological component to our eating habits. I find not wanting to be wasteful hard too. Eating it because if you don't, it will be thrown away. I eat when I am bored, sad, angry etc but rarely when I am excited although I have to admit that my family puts a huge importance on Christmas food and Christmas at our house is always AWESOME because of it. I genuinely enjoy food though. It is fuel - but I don't eat pizza for fuel, I eat pizza coz I love pizza. I can tell myself I prefer salad a hundred times but I honestly don't. I mean, it's pizza. All I can do is use will-power to remind myself that the pizza will be five minutes of deliciousness that will take me three days to lose!

It's crazy how much power we give food. I love your outlook, that really it doesn't give us what we think it does sometimes. Smile
