My name is Caran, and I'm 39. I have two young boys and have been married for almost 10 yrs. I didn't grow up overweight. I was actually under weight until I was 22 or so. Than my dad passed away, and I relaxed, and started slowly gaining. After the birth of my second son, my body fell apart. My knees would swell and hurt, my hips hurt, I developed plantar fascitis in both feet. Everyting hurt, so I didn't move. I gained 55 pounds while pregnant with my son, and kept it all on after he was born. And I've maintained that weight for 6 yrs now.
Last year I had surgery on my foot/leg for the PF. So now that foot doesnt hurt anymore, but I'm still in quite a bit of pain. But I have to push thru it if I want to start losing some weight. I was also diagnosed with low thyroid and vitamin D deficient. So I've been working on those things too.
I ultimately want to lose 100 pounds, but am making small goals, as to not get discourged. =)
