Hi everyone! If there's one word that describes me it's horses. My life revolves around my son and my horses. I also have a regular job that helps me afford them, ha, ha.. I joined this site to lose the weight I gained seemingly out of nowhere. I had always been very fortunate not to have an issue with weight but late 2013 my metabolism must have just stopped and I gained 25 lbs within a period of a couple months. My goal is to lose 30. I've completely had to adjust how I eat and how I approach exercise which is all new to me. I've always been active but I could literally eat whatever I wanted and however much I've wanted. I guess those days are gone.
To add to my fun I partially tore my ACL last April and put on even more weight thanks to being laid up. It prevented me from riding but I'm back at it again as of July 2014 and feeling so much better mentally now.
I'm hoping this site will keep me encouraged and I can help encourage others to improve our lives and our weights together...:-)

Alcohol and Weight
Coconut water, hadn't thought of that one. Vickie, the wine-cooler-ish thing you make is a really good idea - I'll have to try that! Thank you all!

Thanks jmb and sfh! No, I don't plan on doing a lot of drinking for the most part. My weekdays are quite tame, I just wanted something better than 400+ calories per drink. I'll give those a try, thanks!

Alcohol and Weight
Okay...so a week or so on this website and I definitely see where my main calorie/carbs are coming from and that's alcohol. I tend to drink really sugary things like malt beverages and pina colada's ect. I would be lying if I said I don't want to have my evening drink. Is there a better alternative as I don't think with my stress level right now I can try to lose weight and quit alcohol altogether. I'm sure some of you will tell me I need to (and yes, I can't argue that) but I really don't have the willpower at the moment. So what can I drink that won't be as horrible? (over the holiday I honestly can say I drank 2,000 calories!!!) I do like Sprite Zero, Coke Zero, and Seltzer water...mix with what? I heard vodka is the least but I don't really know...
