Hello,
I've been overweight/obese since I was 9 years old. My weight has cycled up and down throughout my life. I topped off at 240 lbs by the time I was 13 and slowly brought my weight down to 200 lbs by the time I turned 17. I became really depressed because I was going to finish school (I had no idea what I was going to do) and I hated myself for being overweight so I started starving myself. That brought me down to 180 lbs, but my mom caught me (because I passed out while we were shopping), so I stopped.
At 18 I joined the fast food workforce and stayed at 180 lbs until I took a job where I sat mostly and went back up to 210 lbs. Later I joined the California Conservation Corps and went back down to 180 lbs. Through the process of promoting from a Corpsmember to a Crewleader II (approx. 2 years) I went back up to 240 lbs. In 2013 I finally got into the CCC Backcountry Trails Program in Klamath National Forest and had the most significant transformation of my life. I went from 240 lbs to 170 lbs in 5.5 months! I had a great time building trails, working on and hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, camping in the most beautiful national forest I have ever seen, and working with 16 of the most amazing and beautiful group of people I have ever met. After my Backcountry season was over I promoted to a recruiter for the California Conservation Corps.
Since then I've gained 90 lbs in one year and two months; I don't want to weigh 260 lbs! I know I'm going to gain more if I don't do something, so now I'm on FatSecret and it's really helping me keep track of what I'm eating. I feel very positive about this and I'm definitely GOING TO GET MY BACKCOUNTRY HARD BODY BACK!!!
