I always get tremendously flumoxed when I'm asked to fill out a bio because I'm just so terrifically boring.

(No, that's not self-deprecating humour - it's truth!)

So. I just turned 40-and-a-couple, married to a fellow widow (don't ask) (oh alright, ask) and I'm a stay-at-home ... everything. Moved to the US at 23 from the UK and to this day I still get tripped up with spelling and grammar differences.

Devout Steelers fan (hence the name), henna-head and cheap-but-good makeup afficionado.

I'm coming up to being 3 years sober after being hospitalized a mere 6 weeks away from drinking myself to death, and I cannot lie - it's not easy. I don't suppose it will ever be easy but here we are anyway. My thyroid does't work properly. I'm diabetic. And as a cirrhosis patient food choices can be just a tad tricky at times.

I also make a truly wicked curry.

My goal isn't to get "skinny". My goal is to get healthy.

I'm a huge fan of Greek yogurt with a bit of fruit added! I also add flax meal, and darned if my mix (sometimes I just chuck it all in the magic bullet thingy) doesn't curb my hunger for 4 hours (it does, trust me).

Avocado? Check. No sugar in coffee? Never have added it - my late Mum would have slapped me silly just for suggesting it Laughing
