Well, HI!!

Wow! It's hard to know what to put here... Hmm.

I grew up in The States. I was born and raised in the South, where my mom's family was from.
Most of my adult life was spent in the North, where my dad's family and my then husband's family was from :|
Talk about getting mixed up! My mom used to call me the Southerner living in YankeeTown, U.S.A... LOL

Wonder what she'd think now that I live in West Yorkshire, UK. :)

I'm married with kids, 3 of em. Last one just turned 18 - Hooray! HotDang and Halleluya! Oh wait, did I say that outloud??

I've always been curvy and ashamed of my weight. However lately, I've noticed that I'm getting that M--A-- spread and then my health became involved so now I am officially saying I'm doing something about it. There I said it, the dreaded D-word. Wait, I didn't actually say it, did I?

OMGoodness! It's become an autobiography! Best stop now.

Ottawa Fatass Checking in!
LOL Hi Syko!

I found FS on my G1 too! Its a great site with lots of friendly people and advice. You can find all sorts of support here and I hope none of us sound even remotely like the wife hehe

Ive found that keeping track of what I eat (whether its on my G1 or not) seems to help me the most and keeps me from really going overboard.

Anyway, welcome to FS!

Feel free to add me if you like Smile

PS there is a group for G1 users as well, perhaps you'd like to join that?

Third Shift
Hi Sassy

I dont know what you do, or where you are but when I worked 3rd shift in the States my job had quite of bit of heavy lifting, bending, stretching, pulling and whathaveya, in other words a lot of exercise type moving around.
I wasnt on a diet but I lost quite a bit of weight. (Dropped 4 bluejean sizes) Not only due to all that extra movement but also due to the change of eating habits.
On meal breaks I usually had something lite like cheese and crackers, a sandwich or one of those small one plate microwavable meals, the ones you dont have refrigerate. I ate the chicken and mashed potatoes, roast beef and mashed potatoes or the stew, I think they were made by dinty moore or hormel.
I only had 30 minutes, so I couldnt have something take forever to cook and then me have to swallow it whole before I went back. I wanted to chew my food and enjoy the break without worrying if I was going to have time to eat! LOL
When I got home I was usually too tired to eat anything, or just had a yogurt and then just went to bed.
My biggest meal of the day was about 2 - 3 hours before work because I made dinner for family and that was my breakfast.
Im not saying to skip meals, but Ive heard said "Eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper". Perhaps that was the key to that 3rd shift weight loss? Or perhaps it the portion control of the small dinners?

I dont know exactly how all the weight came off, I just know it did. I also know I wasnt trying to lose weight at the time, it just happened Very Happy

GPhone and new food
Hmmm.... Mine usually shows up right away.

Have you tried re-syncing the ap to the website?

G1 and the web page
I havent had that problem.

I do know sometimes my phone needs a bit longer to actually sync to the website. Yesterday, when I was adding my dinner on the day before, my food intake data on my phone for that entire day actually vanished. For a moment I panicked then decided to wait. I just waited an hour or so then went back to check, it was back on my phone. In the meantime I had access to the website and it was already on there.

Perhaps, patience is the best answer?

As for syncing that often. I find once every week or two is good enough.

Sorry I couldnt be of more help.
