On Monday I got out and ran in the Bethpage State Park 5k. It was hard, as I hadn't run in two weeks and it also began raining toward the end, but I finished. I stopped twice, which I hate, but finished strong at 31:46. My goal before the summer is over is to run a 5k in under 30. Next one is July 9, and I will be running on my own until then. My leg (shin splints/calf pulls/you name it) feel great, so it's back to work!

Two bad days in a row, one undone by drinking and one undone by a visit to Applebee's.
Today is my cousin's graduation party, so it will be difficult to document everything I eat, and it will be even more difficult to stay within my limit.
I have decided to continue resting my injuries and not run until my next race on Monday. I am very much looking forward to getting back out there, and will have to content myself to do what I can between races. If I can't run 3 miles a day like usual, and can only do 2-2.5, it will be ok. If I have to cut back from 15 to 10 miles a week, it will be worth it rather than pushing too hard and getting hurt.
Off to a good start today (Saturday 6/23), keep it up through Wednesday's weigh-in.

Food: Good start by making good food choices and eating in moderation.
Exercise: Been battling calf injuries and shin splints that have hampered my ability to run of late. Feel good today and will attempt to get back out there tomorrow (6/21).

I've lost weight before using the Weight Watchers program. I lost 20 lbs. in 2010 but gained it all back. Since then, I've lost half the weight through diet and running, but I've become complacent lately and have plateaued.
I've decided to get back on track and be accountable by documenting my food journal here. Since my 2010 weigh-ins were on Wednesday, that will be my official weigh in day.
Important dates to look forward to: August 3: 6 1/2 weeks until my friend's bachelor party in Montreal - want to look good for the pictures and party. August 11-18: 7 1/2 weeks until my summer trip to Ocean City, MD - want to have a decent beach body! Sept. 22: 13 1/2 weeks until my friend's wedding - obviously want to look my best for this one.
Let's do this!!!
