I am a martial artist. I have been practicing since July 2008 and graduated to black belt January 22, 2011. I love competing in tournaments, learning new forms and sparring, and have recentally been promoted to instructor at USA Karate Brooklyn Center. Best job ever! I love teaching, watching people learn new things and watching people understand their bodies is the amazing.

I have been on the Weight Watchers plan since September 2009, I have sucessfully lost 51 pounds and counting. However now that Weight Watchers changed everything about their weight loss plan, I hate it, so I decided to use Jillian Michaels calorie counting method to lose another 7 pounds and to tone up for the summer.
Other activities? I love watching movies, camping, fishing, Karate, biking, working out in the gym, gardening, spending time with my my two cats Haddy and Kit. I love spending time with my family, going up to the cabin, learning about new foods and recipes, and pretty much any out door activity... I love playing in the yard.

Night time eating
I need some ideas on how to stop night time eating. I do so well during the day, counting calories and measuring portions, but when I get home and relax for a bit is when I eat. I am a busy person, I work 2 jobs, one full time at a credit union and the other I am a part time Karate instructor. When I am not working either job, I am either in Karate class or workout out at the gym... but when I get home, and relax, I eat....

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
Granted I was not at 300 pounds, but I am 5'6 and at one point I was 186, so almost 200 pounds. One thing that opened my eyes to losing weight was sliding in and out of a booth at a restraunt. I had to like shimmy and grab the table because it was hard getting in and out. I noticed that I was wearing a size 16 jeans and almost pushing an 18. I took a LOT of pictures, and still do. After losing 51 pounds and counting, down to a size 6 jeans I couldnt believe I let my weight get that out of control. I am in martial arts, having that extra 51 pounds really made it difficult to do some of the moves. Honestly, I feel better than ever Smile

Weights First or Cardio
You should always do a 10-15 minute warm up before weight lifting. It gets your muscles warm and ready to work. If you do cardio before your weights, you will have used up all the energy your muscles have stored. Cardio should at least be 30 minutes in order for it to be "productive" never longer than 2 hours.
