This aging thing really blows. Working twice as hard to lose half as much. My machine starts to put on weight when I barely conceive of the idea of eating something I shouldn't. I'm losing the battle and really need to win this weight war. I feel like the rules changed and nobody told me. What worked to lose weight when I was younger doesn't work anymore. I tried the no-carb diet for 2 weeks and gained 4 lbs. I tried not eating a thing for 3 days and lost just 2 lbs. Awesome. WTF?

Fasting - Have you done it & what happened?
I'm curious if you have tried fasting and if it worked for you.

It was years ago when I did it, but I remember the first 3 days were tough, food was always on my mind. After that I stopped thinking about being hungry and I had an insane amount of energy. I ate just fruit for a couple weeks, then went back to healthy eating and lost 30 lbs in about 3 months.

Did the fasting somehow kick-start my metabolism?

I'm trying to fast again and the first few days are a lot harder than I remember!

Low Carb Diets - Do they work for everyone?
I've been on a no/low carb diet for 2 weeks and gained 4 lbs. My friend swears by it, however, and has lost more than 60 lbs in the last year. She doesn't eat fruit, which I thought was a dieter's go-to food, no? When I was younger I could drop weight by cutting out cheese, yet still eating pasta, grits, and all the so-called bad foods today. What gives?
