Eating LCHF since I started Atkins in 1972 to lose baby weight. Since then I've been off and on and off and on to lose and gain ad nauseam. However, for the past 8 years I've been in ketosis most of the time, adding Intermittent Fasting in 2016 to get to goal weight. Because I'm 73, that goal may be higher than if I were young.

After getting to my goal (135), I was in maintenance for many months and then hit the wall and began slowly to gain. I've been doing various n=1 experiments and so far haven't found the answer to the mystery.

Steps per day
I started using a Fitbit 4 years ago, and tracking really helped me stick to my plan. Don't know why, but it works for me. I average about 700 miles per year. I'm so lazy that the only way I make it happen is to get up before dawn every single day and walk for an hour. Once I get back home, all my good intentions fly out the window.

My next goal is to add a second walk in the evening. We'll see if I can actually overcome my nature. Laughing

I'm one big n=1
My first time on here, although I'm also active on one Low Carb forum. I've been eating LCHF since 1972, so I know the drill. Maintenance is tough, and for some reason I started gaining last May. I've tried all kinds of experiments to find out why, but so far it's all still a mystery.

I'm a 73-year-old female who gets up at 3:30am every day, rain or shine and walks 3 miles. Been doing this for 4 years now. That, too can be a challenge. I have no dis-eases, aches or pains and take supplements plus one elective hormone. My goal is to be healthy and mobile.Laughing

I do lots of n=1 experimenting. Adding Intermittent Fasting (IF) to my plan in 2016 helped me lose back down to goal. Hate the current slippage upwards. Didn't change anything in my diet or exercise, so I'll just keep on keeping on and hope I find the brake.
