Life Change
Thank YOU so much. Every little bit of information helps. I was just diagnosed 2 days ago. So not sure where to start, but not going to taking this sitting down. Have been doing a lot of research on my own last 2 days. But always helps to hear others who have been through the same or currently still dealing with this issue. Again, THANK YOU!!!!

Life Change
So on Monday 11/27/17 I went to the ER have been sick for about a month 1/2 now. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and a severe uti infection. Well, the high levels of blood sugar have been causing these uti infections for months now. I am 47 yr old and been healthy most of my life till Feb 20, 2009. I was an all around athlete played multiple sports weighed about 168lbs. Well, since my wreck back in 2009 my sports activities have come to a complete hault. The drunk driver that took away what I loved walked away with no issues. It took me about 2 1/2 months to walk again. Not complaining because I am still on this earth recently, started playing softball again. But now being 47 and 245 lbs with issues with back, knees and 10 cracked ribs from wreck. It has been a challenge to compete like I once did. But I have come to the conclusion that I need to work on my body. And because I am now over weight with back issues. It has become hard to work out and attempt to loose weight.
But as of Monday I should no longer have any excuses when it comes to weight loss. The type 2 diabetes is just a new challenge in my life and I have all reasons to loose the weight and kick the illness right out the door. So as of yesterday I have know set some very high goals for my self for the next few months. I need to cut down to about 190 lbs and need to kick the diabetes right out the door. I have a 12 yr old boy, 24 yr old daughter, 2 & 3 yr old grandbabies that live with me that I support and take care of. So my pride and joys are the reason I can NOT fail. I am posting on this site to inspire others to follow or I challenge you to do the same for YOUR love ones. Because if we don't care about our health, who will? Our children and loves ones count on us. So as of today, diabetes will not have control of my life. It's made my life very challenging already NOT knowing how to or where to start with this challenge. But either way, here we go. Hope this story inspires someone.
