I'm 52 years old, and have about 60 pounds to lose. That will put me at the high end of the healthy BMI/weight range for my age and height, which is good enough for me! At late middle age, I do not need to slim down to supermodel proportions, and probably couldn't if I wanted to!
I've yo-yo'd a couple of times, successfully lost lots of weight, even kept it off for a while (5 years, once) but fallen off the food cart and gained it all back and more. Now I'm facing menopause, with its increased risk of heart problems, not to mention all the little insults of increasing age. My family has a history of cardiac and digestive problems, and I want to prevent future problems as much as possible. Not to mention aging gracefully, or at least with high energy and high spirits! So here's to the future -- health and happiness to us all!
