I'm a 55 year old plumber with many years experience with bacon butties! Recently had a slap from my doctor and told to cut my weight and sugar levels drastically, or else! I've lost a stone in the last six weeks by following what I call the "Put the icecream down and take the dog for a walk fatso," diet. No idea what my blood sugar count is, but I've cut out all the obvious snacks, etc, so it can't be worse than it was! Apart from losing weight and feeling much fitter, swapping white bread for Aldi's Superseed bread seems to have had a massive effect on my IBS. Why did I not try this years ago? And it's 26p cheaper!
