Had my weight under control until about 4 years ago when I fell off my roof in an accident. Hurt my back and stopped exercising (running 6 miles everyday), started drinking while still eating the same amount as before. Gradually went from 185 to 275 and found out I had diabetes. Woke up this New Years and like a miracle my back pain was completely gone!!! Instantly went back to the gym (fast walking on tread mill for now) and completely quit drinking.
Lost 30 pounds since 1/1/2014 and still going strong with 60 pounds to go. I have made a significant lifestyle change more for the diabetes than anything else. I will beat the diabetes, it won't beat me.
