I am a 48-year-old mother of two girls. I have struggled with being overweight a good majority of my life. Over the last 30 years, I have lost and gained hundreds of pounds. Several attempts at weight loss have resulted in a losses of 50 to 80 pounds while others are a constant struggle not to gain the 10 to 30 back. Most recently, (the last 8 years) my weight has weight has been as low as 147 and as high as 180. I began a low carb, high protein plan on July 9 of this year and lost 20 pounds before stumbling across this site. Now, in the 150s is historically when I begin to REALLY struggle and give up too soon. I am hoping to meet others on this site, share struggles and successes, as well as give and gain advice and encouragement.

how do you curve your cravings and reduce your appetite?
Agree with MummyDee. High protein and low carb is the best appetite suppressant.

Green Coffee Bean Supplements
Mary: Will have to try the coffee with lunch. I love coffee and drinking a warm beverage also assists in appetite control, regardless of caffeine.

I tried Green Coffee Extract, but I too had a terrible dry mouth, so I gave it up.

Body weight vs body fat %
Very interesting reading from a woman who has been obsessed with her scales for 30 years! You are right thought. A girl friend and I went to the gym tonight. We only weigh 4 lbs. different, but her body fat is 10% less, so she looks so much better and wears a smaller size.

new diet?
When I am motivated, as I am now, I do eat this way because I dont sleep well eating a large evening meal. Of course, I LOVE breakfast food, so that helps. I agree though, it is not for everyone.
