I am a 62 year old female, married, with 3 cats, 4 adult children, 10 grandchildren and with 82 pounds to lose. I am choosing Low carb to do it because I think that is what is right for me.

I like Low carb because i want a way of eating that is healthy, satisfying and doable. Just started Jan 5, 2012 and I will be happy with slow and steady. I am cutting out grains, sugar, starchy vegetables, and high carb foods.

I was 125 pounds until I was 30, even after 4 kids. When I turned 30, my metabolism changed and I've been up and down ever since. When I hit 242 pounds, I said that's enough. I've tried weightwatchers and lost 30 pounds and my gallbladder. The low fat diet was not satisfying to me.

My daughter and her husband have been low carbing it for 8 years and are very lean and trim. My daughter encourages me, and my husband supports me although he doesn't follow low carb. I must say since cutting out the wheat and sugar, my joints hurt much much less. It is very nice to be virtually pain free! I think one or both caused inflammation in my joints.

Natra-bio Thyroid Support?
I am interested in answers to this. I have been taking synthroid for about 12 year during which time i've kept gaining weight. Many of the reviews are very good, and I personally like homeopathics. Half the time I forget to take my synthroid. I wish this was a once a day pill and not a 3x a day, just because I would have trouble remembering. But it's got some great reviews. I bet it either helps or does nothing. What have we got to lose?

birthday cake replacement
Well I didn't know about a birthday cake, but 4 of us started having chocolate MIM's this week at work and loving them! They are made with 1 Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa instead if cinnamon. And we poke holes in the top when almost done and put little pieces of butter on the holes to soak down into it and zap for a little more. We all think it tastes like chocolate cake! The lady who made these first, her teenage daughter wanted to try it, and said she loved it! My friend wants to figure out how to make a cake of it for the next birthday she is baking for.

Now I see Tsmamma posted about chocolate MIM's. Belated happy birthday!!!

Azteca Mexican Restaurants
I went to Mexican over the weekend and had combo chicken and steak fajitas with lettuce, salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Everything except the tortillas, rice and beans. Awesome!
