I am a 48 yr old wife and mother of three adult children. I had previously weighed 215 pounds after the birth of my last child some 18 yrs ago...I started yoga, weight loss supplements and walking and eventually got myself back down to about 160 pounds. Well that was back in my early to mid 30's. I kept it off till I got re-married in 2005 to a cook!!! Needless to say, YES, I gained some of it back?! I divorced that husband in 2009 and like magic I lost weight again??!! This time I was down to about 155 pounds! Mostly due to ACV (apple cider vinegar). Well, lightening indeed does strike twice...I re-re-married again (to yet another cook!!!??) in 2014 and you guessed it...my weight began slowly creeping up to my current weight of 190. I have tried everything from weight watchers, to apple cider vinegar, to lemon juice, fresh garlic, golden milk, chia seeds, cinnamon, walking, calorie reduction, the Master cleanse, and even Intermittent fasting....so I'm exhausted, frustrated, menopausal, and just plain tired of it all...then I happened upon the Bulletproof phenomenon and subsequently LCHF. I have also tried Atkins way back in the mid 90's and didnt particularly care for it, as I had hypoglycemia during that time and it did not agree with my system at all. I am 4 days into BP & LCHF and I dont seem to be having any symptoms of hypoglycemia. I dont have cravings, and surprisingly dont miss sugar?! So I'm going to give this a shot at least until the end of the year!

WTF!!???
Avis713, over the years I've heard alot of people say, dont weigh daily and dont go by what the scale says...well if you're like me, I havent been able to follow that logic, because I want & need to know how what I eat effects my weight on a day to day basis...so I do typically weigh daily. For instance, today I reluctantly had a re-feed day, where I ingested quite a few carbs (hanging out with the hubby and he wanted tex/mex)...and its 6:40 now, and Im sitting here eating a trail mix snack! Not gonna beat myself up about it. But when I get up in the morning I will weigh just see how much it threw off my routine off. Next time I'll have a general ideal of how much a tex/mex meal will offset my progress! And like you I've weighed at home and assumed I was losing and then weighed myself a doc's office and found my home scale was 10 pounds off, and not in my favor! So I brought a new scale, accepted what it was saying on drudged onward! So dont fear the numbers on the scale or let it intimidate you! Stay your course!
