Been a while since I posted here. Since my last post I have started a new shift at work that has been taking up all my time and leaving me feeling tired all the time and getting sick again. Appears I am not meant to have a "normal" shift job.

I now work Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. By the time I get home I am overly tired and slacked BIG time on cooking at home and exercising of any kind. Oh how I miss my old shift and old job. It gave me time to post here, work out, and feel generally better. Lately, on top of the new shift, I have had very poor sleep again. I blame some of it due to the caffiene I have been having on weekends in great excess.

I have decied to get back on track as of yesterday. I did 35mins of Biggest Loser on Kinect (although it seems to be having issues recognizing me suddently) and then went for a 40 minute walk in the evening right before bed. I think exercising directly before bed is a bad idea and makes me stay awake. I am going to try to get in my exercise earlier, however, I really miss my evening walks with hubby. Since I always work early mornings and he almost always works evenings now so our time together, especially time to exercise together, is very limited. But, I am going to try to exercise on my own in the evenings as sort of a "me" time for at least a half hour daily whether it be Kinect, a walk, or both.

I also have gone back to swearing off caffiene. I felt so much better when I was eating healthy and removed soda and great amounts caffiene from my diet. I will still have caffiene in my teas, but the amount in there is minimal compared to Mountain Dew and energy drinks. I have also picked up some moer 5 hr energy to be my source of an extra "jolt" when hanging out and at shows. I just hope the healthy eating, lack of caffiene, and exercise is going to help me feel better once again and be enough to combat this terrible schedule. ::sigh:: I miss my old job.

I have vowed to make these 4 things priority in my life:
1) Time for myself
- exercise, cooking, reading, small amount of reflection time
2) Time for my husband
- weekly date nights, more walks and bike rides together
3) Time for my photograghy
- I moved here to make my business thrive, and have yet spent enough time on it to do so due to all the other things in my life. I am weeding out all the unnecessaries and making time for the more important.
4) Time for music
- I recently purchased a guitar and have been practicing it, but not as regularly as I'd like. I also need to brush up on my singing for my musical endeavours. ;)

Wish me luck in finding time for all these things in a super busy life!

10 April 2011

Another week of slacking with everything. Last week ended up being a little busier than expected with trips to Orlando and seeing some more bands and meeting some old friends (and new ones too), staying up til 5AM and driving 2 hours home; I feel like I am living the rockstar life.

But sadly the rockstar life isn't helping my sleep or fitness journey. Lack of sleep and excess caffiene is making me feel tired more often, lack of exercise is making my quality of sleep poorer. I just need to get back on the horse and do it, but that first step is always the hardest.

No matter how tired I am this evening after dinner, I am going on a bike ride or walk with my hubby. It has been FAR too long. Also hoping to get to bed at a decent hour and get up early tomorrow and start my Biggest Loser work outs again.

Earlier a friend commented on one of my Facebook photos from last January and said he could really see the difference in weight loss for both my husband and I. Looking back at some of those photos, I can't believe I ever let myself get to that and I barley even noticed at the time. Talk about some inspiration and motivation to get back at it and that's exactly what I am going to do; wish me luck!
