Matt55's Calorie Restriction
performance:
Steady
As of Nov 29, 2009 I have lost 64 lbs in 10 months with a calorie restriction (calorie count). This is not a diet... more of a lifestyle change. My goal was a total of 63 lbs.
I think the main reason people fail when trying to loose weight, is they try to make big changes in their diet. These changes are so drastic the body cannot adjust without rebellion. Hunger and tiredness can build beyond the ability of a person to control it.
For me, the best I could do was reduce my caloric intake by 1000 calories a day (2 lbs per week). Even so I was hungry sometimes... and had to eat some sort of snack every two to three hours. But it did work!
Oh yeah... about me. I'm just a guy from the mid-west who was fortunate enough to figure out how to lose weight. Now I'm into maintenance... walking the line between weight loss and weight gain. Hopefully I can figure out how to incorporate the knowledge I'll gain along the way into a permanent life style.
The guy in the picture is Coco... he's a King Charles Cavalier spaniel that's 2.5 years old. He's walked over 800 miles with me in rain, snow and whatever... we both have a long way to go.
Good luck to you on your journey!
