Up, down, up, down. Scales are crazy! At least I'm staying around my goal weight. Had a good week at work, get to have lunch with my grandson tomorrow and spend some time with a friend later this weekend. I could use some good company right now. Hope to do some hiking as well. Things are going good, but I just can't seem to shake the blues :-( I'll just have to stay busy doing things that satisfy me. I broke down and made some coconut chocolate chip cookies this evening and they were yummy. Good thing they're filling, so I couldn't eat too many :-) One was very satisfying! I was surprised. Not that I only ate one . . . but I WAS surprised :-) They will make a good occasional snack AND I can make just one dozen at a time instead of 3 or 4 dozen so I won't have a ton of cookies lying around to tempt me. Fortunately eating isn't the only thing that satisfies me. May work on some cross stitch or sewing, or maybe just sit and watch the birds. Not too many hummers at the feeders anymore, but I do enjoy watching them when they come around.

Ended up going shopping this morning and then stayed home this afternoon. I needed to get some healthy food in the house so I can prepare for my work week and not eat the bad stuff cause I don't have any good stuff on hand or prepared. :-) I found a book about cooking with coconut flour. I am considered to be pre-diabetic and my total cholesterol is borderline high, but the good stuff is really high so as long as that stays up, my Doc's good with it. found the book interesting. Coconut is supposed to be so good for you in so many ways including blood sugar and cholesterol control. Had hints for substituting it in part of a recipe and it had a lot of recipes in the book itself. Not just desserts either. Stuff like chili, chicken and fish recipes. I think I'll try to incorporate it into my cooking and when I have a hankering for something on the sweet side I will try one of the desserts from there and see what happens to my Labs. That's the hard part about trying to keep the weight down and stay healthy, isn't it? No one thing seems to work for everybody and we all need to figure out what works best for each one of us. It's the trial and error thing. :-( Fortunately I have found what works for me as far as weight control goes AND my labs have improved in most areas but gotten worse in a couple. I feel like I am just fine tuning what I have already been doing. Have a good night everyone and may everyone have a successful week.
