How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I agree weight fluctates but its measurements which speak the good news. I dont like to weigh myself but I measure myself once a month. People get so hung up on the scales, throw them away! Buy a tape measure.

5:2 Fast Diet
Sorry I was replying to the comment from DQ2. The coffee situation is a personal thing as long as its black. It affects everyone differently, I for one can drink it and not get jittery. Green tea also has caffeine in it.

There’s no metabolic reason to avoid caffeine during a fast, but if you have trouble sleeping, limit your intake later in the day. You should, of course, drink it black.

5:2 Fast Diet
Theoretically yes you can, but they way I see it is that the longer you are without food the better. The whole idea is to create a feast and famine situation in your body.
What I do for example is: today is a fast day for me, I stopped eating after dinner last night and now will eat my 500 cals at one meal in the morning (apple) and one at night then eat again tomorrow morning. So really its 37 hours I have restricted my calorie intake by the time I return to usual eating.
