Concerned about calorie intake of the diet I am trying
Thank you so much everyone, truly appreciate it. I think you are all right, I'm just going to eat healthy...I enjoy healthy food so that isn't terribly difficult for me. I found after having my baby that carb cravings have been out of this world and I lacked any sort of motivation or control. That seems to be turning around a bit now. Now I am fighting the carb (or rather) sugar addiction and getting my body back on track.....slowly. I find myself looking at myself with disgust and I can't keep doing that, it is time for action. I haven't worked up to exercise yet (I mean outside of regular day stuff like cleaning, running up town, shoveling our sidewalks, running after baby) where I do a video regularly but the longer I focus on cleaner eating the more motivated I am to move my ass Smile

and I did notice that I have been more emotional the last couple days for "no apparent reason" so maybe it is lack of fats etc. So far this has not been a very enjoyable process

No not my diet, one a friend gave me. This is actually quite simple....not to hard to throw a piece of chicken and a cucumber together but it is really boring right now. My concern was calories, this diet doesn't seem to have enough calories in it for the first 21 days and I am not sure how that effects your body for the short term. I appreciate all your comments thanks Smile

Hello Everyone Smile
I have started this diet and for the 1st 21 days, No grains, No fats, No dairy...then in Stage 2 you start introducing these again with the exception of grains for an additional 21 days. In Stage 1 you can't mix anything. A different protein each meal with either one type of veggie or one type of fruit (can't mix veggies either) to a max of 2 fruits per day. Can't duplicate the types of fruit or veggies in the same day either. My concern is this.....when I put in what I have eaten in a day my calories are low. I am only allowed 4-5oz of protein each meal/snack.....I have been trying to add 5oz of protein to each snack as well just to bring the calories up, I add more veggie as well but those calories are pretty minimal. If you have calories of lower than 1200 per day how long does it take for your body to go into starvation mode? Is this going to be counterproductive? I don't feel hungry, I eat every 2-3hrs and drink anywhere from 96oz-128oz of water a day along with taking my vitamins. Any thoughts....is this ok or do I need to add even more protein to bring calories up? What should my calories be? The allowed foods list is below, any information would be great. Chicken Breast Spring mix/lettuce
White Fish Cabbage
Lean Beef Tomato
Shrimp Asparagus
Crab Spinach
Lobster Cucumber

Protein shake (less than 5g sugar) Kale
Onion
Celery
Oranges
Apples
Grapefruit
Strawberries
