I have always been on the heavy side.
In 2011 I was up to 235 lbs-- my heaviest recorded weight. Through healthy eating and increasing activity, I lost about 25 lbs that year.
In winter of 2012 I went on a juice fast and then went on Atkins for a month or so. I went from 209 lbs to in the low 190's. I kept my weight between 190-195 lbs. throughout 2013.
In December of 2013 I felt like I was having chest "heaviness" and found my BP was in the 140-150's/90's or higher.
I had read on line about studies that showed improvement of hypertension with water fasting for 10-14 days. (Here is one such study: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pu...
So I embarked on an 11 day water fast. I felt horrible during the fast, but held in there.
My blood pressure has been in the 100-110's/70's post fast.
The 19 lbs I lost during my fast has almost all returned in the last couple weeks.
I LOVED how I felt in the 170's and am determined to be that thin again this year-- not only for looking good, but to increase my heart health as well.
So here I am ready to give it a go. I am very determined.
