Dailyburn Import
Hey,

Since Dailyburn lacks a Droid app, I'm looking to switch back over to Fatsecret however I don't want to lose all the data I've collected there.

I'm not quite so worried about day to day meals. I know that would be extremely difficult to port over however things like Weigh-Ins would be awesome.

Is there any way to do this sort of import?

Thanks!

Can You Change the Calories Burned?
Thanks for the response. I continued to research BMR and RMR and found this:

Info:
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/tutorial_BMR.php

Calculator:
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php

Their calculator lines up exactly with FatSecret after adjusting for Activity Level.

For me, it shows the following:
RMR: 2149
BMR: 2387 (only 3 cals different than your calculator)

Activity Factor: Sedentary (1.2) -> 2864 cals burned (BMR * 1.2)

FatSecret reports 2864 cals burned for me with 8 hours sleep and 16 hours resting. This 20% increase over the BMR assumes some light activity, such as desk work. I guess the main problem is that you can add those activities separately, which skew the numbers.

Nonetheless, it's good to know what the number they're using is representative of. Makes me wonder if you can adjust your Activity Factor! lol

Can You Change the Calories Burned?
Hi,

On the Exercise chart, my calories burned when Resting and Sleeping are extremely inflated. I know that they do a rough estimate based on weight however it is not even close.

According to it, if I were to sleep 24 hours a day, I'd be burning more than 2700 calories!

Is there a way to adjust the calories/hr burned per MET?

Thanks in advance!

% Fat / % Lean
Hey,

It'd be great if you could log your % Fat and/or % Lean when you do a weigh-in. That way you could see how much actual Fat you're losing as you progress along.

It'd be an optional feature since not everyone has a scale that provides the info, but I'm sure it'd see a good bit of use.

Personally, I've resorted to using the log and manually calculating this info.

Hope it's in the works - if not, let's get it on the feature to-do list!

Macronutrient Ratios
My diet is based around striving for these percentages:
Fat: 30%
Carbs: 40%
Protein: 30%

I chose these numbers based on vaguely recalling them from exercise & fitness magazines/books in the past. I used to read them all the time. The additional protein will help my muscles recover after lifting weights, especially if you take in ~20g protein shortly after a workout.

A more concrete example of the breakdown would be Arnold Schwarzenegger's diet, which worked out to 20% F, 40% C, 40% P back during his competition days. He apparently didn't attempt to do these numbers - it's just what his diet worked out to. Since I'm not trying to lift like a body-builder, switching out some protein for fat seems to make sense.

I would add that to get the Fat #, I tend to strive to consume healthy fat. I avoid saturated fat and will occasionally have some peanuts, which quickly eats up that number.
